YAP, FSM – June 22, 2026 — The Eleventh Yap State Legislature convened its Fifteenth Session Day of the Fourth Regular Session at 10:00 a.m. in the Legislature Chambers.
During the session, members received one communication from Governor Itimai. The communication transmitted the Governor’s withdrawal of the nomination of Mrs. Leelkan P. Southwick for appointment to the Yap Investment Trust Board.
The Legislature also considered measures on the Bill Calendar for second reading. The bills addressed matters relating to health services funding, federal grant appropriations, and budget reprogramming.
Key Measures Considered
Bill No. 11-221 — Appropriates an additional $638,778 to support the Waab Community Health Center within the Department of Health Services.
Bill No. 11-222 — Appropriates $124,735 in U.S. Federal grant funds for government programs and operations.
Bill No. 11-223, D1 — Approves the reprogramming of certain previously appropriated funds.
Bill No. 11-227 — Provides additional funding for a public health SSDI program in the Department of Health Services.
During the course of the session, the agenda was amended to include two resolutions on the Resolution Calendar for consideration by the Legislature:
Resolution No. 11-163 — Approving the salary increase of the Chief Justice to a rate not to exceed $60,000 per annum.
Resolution No. 11-164 — Approving the salary increase of the Attorney General to a rate not to exceed $60,000 per annum.
The Legislature continued deliberations on matters before the body and conducted its scheduled legislative business for the day.
The Fifteenth Session Day concluded with adjournment subject to the call of the Chair.
